within one year preceding the filing of said petition; (7)
that he or she will not knowingly sell or allow to be sold in
the said house or on the said premises any such liquors
on Sunday or on election days, or to minors at any time, or
allow a minor to drink in said house or on said premises ;
that he or she, will not keep or permit to be kept a bawdy
house in the said house or on the said premises, or the
gathering together or the visitation to said house or premises
of women for lewd or immoral purposes; (8) this petition
must be verified by the affidavit of the petitioner, made
before a justice of the peace; if any false statement is made
in any part of said petition, the petitioner or petitioners
shall be deemed guilty of perjury, and upon indictment and
conviction thereof his license shall be revoked and he shall
be subject to the penalties provided by law for that crime.

Section 678. If, after the notice and hearing provided for

in this sub-division of this article, the said board shall
decide to grant the license prayed for, they shall notify the
applicant of such decision in writing, and if the applicant
shall, within thirty days from the date when such license
granted is to become effective, produce to the clerk of the
Court of Common Pleas the said notification, and pay said
•clerk the sum of money herein specified, the said clerk shall
thereupon issue to him the license granted to him by the
said board; but every grant of a twelve months' license,
upon which no license has been actually taken out and paid
for prior to the first day of June, in the year of its issue,
and every grant of a six months' license, upon which no
license has been actually taken out and paid for prior to the
first day of December, in the year of its issue, shall be,
after the said first day of June or December, respectively,
null and void, and no license shall be issued thereupon. For
a saloon or restaurant in which distilled liquors or any
admixture of distilled liquors containing more than fifteen
per centum of alcohol, or fermented liquors containing less
than fifteen per centum of alcohol, may be sold by retail by
the drink or in quantities or packages not exceeding five
gallons, of any spirituous or fermented liquor except lager
beer, and not exceeding one keg of eight gallons or less of
lager beer, to be drunk on the premises or not, as desired by
the purchaser, the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars
shall be paid for a twelve months' license, and the sum of
