the county and taken before a justice of the peace for trial,
and on conviction shall be fined a sum not less than five
hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars, and
upon failure to pay said fine shall be confined in the county
jail for a period of six months, and in addition thereto the
horses and mules offered for sale, together with any property
of said person or persons shown to be non-residents, may be
proceeded against by a non-resident attachment by a pro-
ceeding in the name of the State of Maryland, to be instituted
by the State's Attorney for the county to recover the amount
of said fines and costs.
Section 127 p. And be it enacted, That for every apprehen-
sion and conviction of any person charged with violation of

giving information that leads to the conviction of such
person shall be entitled to receive one-fourth of the fine
imposed and collected, which sum shall be paid to such
officer or other person by the County Commissioners.
Section 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
