SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following additional sections be added to
|
CHAP. 272
|
|
|
Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State of
Maryland, title "Talbot County," sub-title "License," to be
numbered respectively 127 J, 127 K, 127 L, 127 M, 127 N, 120 O.
and 127 p.
Section 127 J. And be it enacted. That it shall be unlawful
for any person or persons who shall not be a resident or

residents of Talbot county to advertise for sale, at public
auction or at private sale, either in their own name or in the
name of any resident or residents of said county, any horses
or mules exceeding five in number until he or they shall first
have taken out a license for that purpose, as hereinafter pro-
vided in this Act.
Section 127 K. And be it enacted, That any non-resident or

residents of Talbot county, before proceeding to advertise or
sell any horses or mules, as provided in the foregoing section,
shall apply to the clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot
county, in person, for a license to advertise and sell horses
and mules at public auction or private sale, and shall pay to
the said clerk a license fee of fifty dollars if the number of
said horses and mules shall not exceed ten; a license fee of one
hundred if the number of horses and mules shall not exceed
fifteen, and a license fee of one hundred and fifty dollars if the
number of horses and mules shall not exceed twenty, and a
license of two hundred dollars if the number of said horses
and mules shall exceed twenty: and upon the payment of

such fees the clerk shall require of said applicant or appli-
cants that they make oath to the number of horses and mules
intended to be advertised and sold, and shall thereupon issue
to such applicant or applicants a license to advertise and sell
such horses and mules to the number specified in said license.
Section 127 L. And be it enacted, That upon obtaining a

license, as provided for in the preceding section, the person
or persons named in the said license shall be authorized to
advertise and sell horses and mules to the number named in
said license; provided, however, that such sale shall be made
within thirty days from the date of the license.
Section 127 M. And be it enacted, That the clerk of the

Circuit Court shall receive as fee for issuing said license the
sum of one dollar, which shall be retained by him from the
