in this State. And the said Mayor and Councilman may at
any time provide by ordinance for the codification or re-cod-
ification of such ordinances as have been or may hereafter
be passed by them and for the printing of such codification
or re-codification thereof, and the printed copy thereof issued
by authority and under the sanction of said body shall be
legal evidence of the passage of such ordinances and the
contents thereof in any court of law or equity in the State.

CHAP. 202

180. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland inconsistent there-
with, and not hereby specially repealed by the section and
chapter, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That it shall be the duty

regular election for Mayor and Councilmen succeeding the
passage of this Act, to submit to the qualified voters of
Frostburg the question as to whether or not the new charter
provided for in this Act shall be adopted, and at such elec-
tion the ballots cast upon such questions shall have the
words "For. New Charter" or "Against New Charter," as
the voters shall desire; and if a majority of the votes cast
upon said question shall be for the new charter, then this
Act shall become immediately effective and in full force; but
if a majority of the votes cast upon said question shall be
against the new charter, then this Act shall not take effect,
and become null and void; and it shall be the duty of the
Mayor and Councilmen of Frostburg to give the usual notice
of the time and place of said election, and at least ten days
before said election they shall cause this Act to be published
in at least one newspaper published in Frostburg; provided,
however, that if this Act shall not become a law until it
shall be too late to give notice as provided by the preceding
section, it shall be the duty of the Mayor and Councilmen
of Frostburg to submit the said Act to the qualified voters
of said town at the regular election to be held in the year
1907, and in no case shall this Act or any part thereof
become effective and operative for any of the purposes pro-

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
