OBSTRUCTIONS AND UNSAFE BUILDINGS.
To pass all such ordinances as they may deem necessary
for abatement and removal of all nuisances and obstructions
from the streets, lanes and alleys of said town, whether the
same are upon the surface or under the surface or above the
surface of any such streets, lanes or alleys, and also from
any adjoining lots, and may also provide by ordinance for
the removal of any houses, stables or other buildings, or any
portions thereof which may become dangerous or unsafe for
any reason or on any account whatever.
FLYING OF FLAGS OR BANNERS.
To regulate and prevent the flying of flags, banners and
signs across the streets or from houses.
NUMBERING OF HOUSES.
To regulate the numbering of houses and lots, and compel
owners to re-number the same, and in default thereof to
authorize the same to be done by the street superintendent,
or such other party as the Council may appoint, at the
owners' expense — such expense to constitute a lien upon the
property, and enforcible as provided in the ordinance.
CONNECTION WITH SEWERS.
To regulate the making of private connection with sewer,
gas and water pipes, and to compel the owners of property
to bring such connections inside of curb of streets before
permanent improvement thereof, and in default of the owners
making such connections, to authorize the city to do so at
the owners' expense, and to make such expense a lien upon
the property.
REMOVAL OF NUISANCES.
To remove all nuisances and obstructions from the streets,
lanes and alleys, and from any lots adjoining thereto, or any
other place within the limits of the city, or within one mile
thereof.
PAVING, GRADING, SIDEWALKS AND SEWERING OF STREETS.
To cause the streets, lands and alleys to be sidewalked,
paved, graded, repaired, repaved, regraded, drained or
sewered, and to close streets, or parts of streets and alleys,
