directors may, in their discretion, remit such forfeiture or
recover in the name of the company such instalments by
suit or action at law or in any other way, and upon such
terms as they may deem proper.

Section 8. And be it enacted, That the company hereby incor-

porated shall have the power to make, construct, operate and
maintain double or single railway tracks from such connec-
tions with the tracks of other railway companies in Balti-
more, Harford, Howard, Carroll, Frederick, Anne Arundel
and Prince George's counties, and in Baltimore city, as it
may agree upon with such other companies, and from all
such points of connections may build, operate and maintain
in said counties and city such railways as it may deem expe-
dient for the transportation of passengers, merchandise and
produce in cars propelled by electricity in any form, or other
improved motive power, other than steam, with the right to
erect and maintain all such poles and wires and appurte-
nances as may be necessary, and to build, operate and main-
tain car barns, shops and power plants, either on its own
lines or on the lines of other railway companies with which
it may connect, directly or indirectly, for the use of its cars
or the cars using the tracks of the companies with which it
may connect, directly or indirectly, and to build, operate
and maintain on its own railway lines and on the railway
lines of other companies with which it may connect, either
directly or indirectly, stations, excursion resorts, buildings
and other structures, with power to lease any or all of the
said property mentioned in this section, upon such terms
and for such periods as may be agreed upon, without any
right of redemption to the lessee, unless the same is specifi-
cally given in the contract of lease, or to sell any or
all of said property, and to build the necessary switches
and connecting tracks from its tracks or the tracks of
such other companies with said car barns, shops, power
plants, stations, excursion resorts, buildings and other
structures, and to acquire, by purchase, lease or con-
demnation proceedings, the necessary property for all
the uses and purposes herein set forth, and to .acquire
cars and other operating apparatus for its own use or for the
purpose of leasing or selling the same to other railway
companies with whose lines it may connect, directly or
indirectly, and to acquire rails, ties and other tracks and
