church located at Flint hill, in Frederick county, Maryland,
or to give away or distribute at his place of business or
near thereto within the limits aforesaid, any such spirituous
or fermented liquors or lager beer or intoxicating drinks of
any kind, nor shall any license be issued or granted for the
sale of the same within the limits aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person convicted in a
a court having jurisdiction of the offense shall for the first

offense be fined in a sum not less than fifty dollars nor more
than two hundred dollars, and for a second offense not less
than one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dol-
lars, and on failure to pay the fine and costs imposed by
the court trying the offender the court may, in its discre-
tion, commit the offender for a first offense to the county
jail for not exceeding sixty days, and for a second offense
for not more than one year.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from and after the first day of May, 1906.

CHAPTER 242.
AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Baltimore Coal
Exchange of Baltimore City, a body corporate, by
increasing the number of its directors from twelve to
twenty-one.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Baltimore Coal Exchange of Baltimore city,

a body corporate, duly incorporated under the general
incorporation laws of the State of Maryland, be and it is
hereby authorized and empowered to increase the number
of its board of directors from twelve to twenty-one mem-
bers.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
