same or different processes in the same town or city, and
the holders of a majority of stock therein shall believe that
such corporations can furnish a cheaper and better service
by co-operation for that purpose, and shall authorize the
exercise of the powers herein given, such corporations, in
addition to the right to consolidate, as provided in Article
23, Section 45, of the Code of Public General Laws of this
State, are hereby empowered to secure such joint operation
by one of said corporations becoming the lessee of the prop-
erty and franchises of the others, or the owner of stock
therein.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 168.

AN ACT to prohibit the sale of spirituous and fermented
liquors within three miles in all directions of St. Mary's
Protestant Episcopal Church, in the village of Woodville,
Aquasco District, Prince George County, Maryland.

WHEREAS, It is against the wishes of many persons resid-

county that liquor should be sold in said village; and

WHEREAS, This wish has been respected for many years
by all persons residing in said village,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit

form to any person, firm or corporation to sell spirituous
or fermented liquors nearer than three miles in all directions
from St. Mary's Protestant Episcopal Church, in the village
