March following, and the commander shall be authorized to
select such number of seamen to serve on said boats as the
Board of Public Works shall authorize, not to exceed three
in number for each boat; one of each crew shall receive a
salary of forty dollars per month, and the remainder thirty
dollars per month each, to serve from October fifteenth to
March fifteenth, as before stated; provided, however, that
the owner of such boats so hired shall keep the same in
good order and repair; provided further, that the State
Board of Public Works shall, if requested by the County
Commissioners of said counties continue the boats on duty
from the fifteenth of March until the fifteenth of October,
allowing, however, but. one man on said boats with the com-
mander, and the said commander and the one man to receive
such salary as the County Commissioners may direct, not to
exceed the salary allowed during the other part of the
season; and provided, also, that the clerk of the Circuit
Court for Talbot County be and he is hereby directed to
pay over to the Comptroller the sum sufficient to pay said
salaries and hire of said boat as aforesaid, at the mouth of
the Tred Avon river, from the license fees received from
tongers in Talbot county; and provided further, that the

in the Chester river shall be paid to the Comptroller in
equal parts by the clerks of the Circuit Courts for Queen
Anne's and Kent counties, respectively, from funds received
by them for tongers' licenses, and now directed to be paid
to the school funds.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
