shall continue in office until the first day of June, nineteen
hundred and eight.

CHAP. 114
Whom effected

Section 227. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the first day of June, nineteen hundred and seven.

CHAPTER 115.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council
of Hagerstown to borrow the sum of twenty-five thou-
sand dollars by the issue and the sale of bonds, the pro-
ceeds therefrom to be used in the construction, improve-
ment and repair of drains, and providing for the payment
of the interest on such bonds and the principal thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown, Maryland,

Repeal.

be and is hereby authorized and empowered to borrow a sum
of money, not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars, on the
faith and credit of the town as hereinafter provided, which
shall be known and designated as series five of drainage
bonds, and the money arising from their sale shall be
applied and used exclusively for the construction, improve-
ment and repair of the drains herein mentioned, which said
drains shall be constructed, improved and repaired by the
Board of Street Commissioners of Hagerstown in the order
of priority and precedence as mentioned herein, and the
first drain hereinafter mentioned and described shall be
completed absolutely before any expenditure shall be made
in connection with those named subsequently thereto; and
should the said money be insufficient to construct, improve
and repair all the drains herein named, yet the Board of
Street Commissioners shall use and apply said money in so
far as the same will allow in the construction, improvement
and repair of the drains herein named, in the following
order :

First — A drain commencing at the new drain in Hop-
zapfel's meadow; then running northwardly to Washingtown
street; thence turning west westwardly on Hoover's ground
