from the sale of warehouse No. 3 "A," to be taken by the
city of Baltimore in the widening of Light street, in said
city, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby
appropriated, and the Comptroller is hereby authorized to
issue his warrant upon the Treasurer for such amount as the
said commission upon their requisition may require, not
exceeding, however, such sum as may be credited to the
account of the State tobacco fund.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 805.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Balti-
more County to reimburse William S. Cowley for money
expended by him in the construction of Walker avenue, in
said county, under the direction of the Road Supervisor and
Engineer appointed to supervise said work.

WHEREAS, In the year 1896, the sum of five hundred and
twenty-seven dollars was expended by William S. Cowley in

the construction of Walker avenue, in Baltimore county, and
for improving the same beyond the terms of his original
contract, and such expenditure and work was done by direc-
tion and under the authority of the road supervisor and
engineer appointed by the County Commissioners to direct
and supervise said work, and said amount is yet unpaid,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore county

be and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay to
William S. Cowley such an amount without interest as the
said Board of County Commissioners of Baltimore county
may find due and owing by said County Commissioners of
Baltimore county to him for the construction of Walker
avenue.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
