the discretion of the Council the public interest may require,
and the resources of the town may justify.

SEC. 22. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of the

county, the board of public school commissioners, justices of
the peace, sheriffs, constables and all other State and county
officers shall have, hold and exercise their offices in said
town as heretofore, except as qualified by the other sections
of this Act. The County Commissioners of Montgomery
county shall, on or before the first day of January, 1907,
and on or before the first day of January in each and every
year thereafter, pay over to the town of Somerset that
proportion of the entire county levy for the entire roads
which the total real property assessed within the limits of
the town of Somerset shall bear to the whole amount of
assessed real property in Montgomery county, so that the
town of Somerset shall receive and disburse for the mainte-
nance of the streets of said town the amount levied for the
repair of roads by the said County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery county, upon the real property within the corporate
limits of the town of Somerset.

SEC. 23. And be it enacted, That this Act is hereby

declared to be a public Act, and may be used in evidence in
all the courts of this State without proof.

Forfeiture.

SEC. 24. And be it enacted, That neglect or non-use shall
not work a forfeiture of this charter.
SEC. 25. And be it enacted, That all Acts and parts of

Repeal.

Acts inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Act are
hereby repealed.

SEC. 26. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Council of Glen Echo,
Montgomery County, to borrow money on the credit of
said town for purpose of acquiring by purchase or other-
wise, and maintaining a system of water works and sewer-
