tled "An Act to create the office of treasurer for Charles
county and to provide f or collection of taxes therein," be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
so as to read as follows :

Section 9. And be it enacted, That the passage of this Act
shall in no way interfere with the rights and duties of col-
lectors appointed or to be appointed in accordance with the

law in existence at the time of the passage of this Act until
and during the year 1905, and that all the provisions of
Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
Entitled "Revenue and Taxes," and all amendments to the
game relating to the duties, compensation or remedies of
collectors, or proceedings or remedies against them or their
bonds, except to the extent that they may be repealed or
modified by this Act, shall continue in full force and be
applicable to the office of treasurer hereby created; provided
further, that all orders of the Circuit Court ratifying and
confirming or setting aside sales of land for taxes shall be
subject to appeal to the Court of Appeals of this State within
thirty days after decision thereof by the Circuit Court; that
the reports of said sales shall be amendable, in the dis-
cretion of the court, to conform to the facts in any mat-
ters required to be set forth therein; or shall any sale be
set aside when the requirements of law have been substan-
tially complied with; that when any sale shall have been
finally ratified the purchaser shall upon payment of the pur-
chase money have a good title to the property sold, and if
the said ratification shall be made by the court after excep-
tions filed by any one interested in the property sold, the
order of ratification of the sale, subject to appeal as afore-
said, shall be conclusive as to the regularity of the sale and
of the title under such sale, except in a court of equity upon
the ground of fraud or collusion or other usual equitable
grounds for setting aside sales in a court of equity; and it
shall be the duty of the clerk to the County Commissioners,
the clerk of the Circuit Court, and all other officers or per-
sons to perform all the duties upon their part required by
existing law to be performed in relation to or in aid of the
duties of the office of treasurer, as are now required by them
in respect to the office of State and county collector of taxes
in said county.
