it is further provided that a certificate or statement for
any interest or assessment or any note or other evidence of
debt given in consideration of a policy of insurance or of
any other transaction or proceeding of said company, attested
by its secretary and the common seal, shall be prima facie
evidence before any justice of the peace or court of
law or equity; and no member of said corporation, not
being in his individual capacity a party to any suit, shall be
incompetent as a witness in any such cause on account of
his being a member thereof.
SEC. 18. And be it further enacted, That no liability shall

CHAPTER 760.

AN ACT to repeal Section 9 of Chapter 199 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland for the Session of
1904, entitled "An Act to create the office of Treasurer
for Charles County, and to provide for the collection of
taxes therein ;" and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and to add a new section to said Act, to be known
as "Section 10."

re-enact.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 9 of Chapter 199 of the Acts of the Gen-
