CHAP. 100

corner of lot one (1) in block forty-nine (49); thence from
said point along the easterly side of Carroll avenue to the
Bladensburg road at John Brown's; thence with the westerly
side of said road to the land of Jackson; thence southerly
with Jackson's land to the land of Riggs; thence with the east
line of Riggs' thirty acre wood lot, and the west lines of said
Riggs' land known as the Wroe farm to the land of one Gleason;
thence with the said land to a boundary stone known as the
end of thirty-first (31st) line of Chillum Castle Manor;"
thence with said line reversed, and as now laid down, to the
land of the late Samuel J. Cockerille; thence still with the
said line and said Cockerille's north line, to the aforesaid
third (3d) line of the District of Columbia; thence with said
line reversed to the place of beginning.
Section 4. The residents of said town being qualified
voters under the laws of this State, and who have resided in

on the first Monday in May next, elect one person at least

serve for a term of two years, and six persons not less than
twenty-five (25) years of age as Councilmen, who, together

whom shall have resided in the town at least one year pre-
vious to their election, and be legal voters therein.
" (b) They shall receive no pay for their services except

Councilmen elected upon the first Monday in May next, three

succeeding May, three persons possessing the necessary
qualifications shall be elected as Councilmen for a term of
