cast a ballot with the words "For License" or "Against
License," printed or written thereon, as the voter shall see fit.

one of the judges of said election before the opening of the
polls a glass ballot box of the kind now used in said Charles
county, in which the said ballots are to be deposited at said
election. The result of said election in each district shall be
counted and returns made out at the close of the polls, and
the result certified by the said judges and clerks to the
said supervisors of elections of Charles county, who shall meet
at the county seat of said Charles county for that purpose
on Thursday, April 26, 1906, at ten o'clock A. M. The said
supervisors of election of said county shall not later than

the third Tuesday of April in the year 1906 select two
judges and two clerks for each election district of said
county, and duly notify the same, one clerk and one judge to
represent each of the opposing sides, to be selected, if
required, from a list of four names as presented by any
organization which may be, in the meantime, affected, to
represent the respective sides of the matter in issue at the
said election. On the Thursday succeeding said election,
one of the judges, who shall be designated by the supervisors,
shall convey the returns of the said election and the ballot
boxes to the board of supervisors of election, who shall meet
at the county seat at ten o'clock A. M. on that day for that
purpose, as aforesaid. The said supervisors of election shall
then tabulate and count up the returns as made up by said
judges and clerks, and proclaim the result by publication in
two newspapers published in said county, in the same week
during which the said election shall be held, and shall also
certify to the clerk of the Circnit Court for Charles county

appointed as aforesaid, shall be paid two dollars ($2.00) per
day, and any judge or clerk who shall refuse or fail to serve
shall be subject to a fine of twenty-five dollars, upon convic-
tion, before a justice of the peace of said county. In case
any judge or clerk shall fail to serve as such officer of
election, the officer of election who shall attend shall fill the
vacancy or vacancies by appointment of a person or persons
who represent the same side as that for which the vacancy shall
occur, and they shall fill such vacancies if required from a list of
three names submitted by persons present at the election,
