reservoirs, dams, tunnels, conduits, fountains, engines and
machinery, buildings and works of the company, for the
purpose of supplying water in said county; to collect the
water and dispose of the same for the purposes hereinbe-
fore stated; to excavate the earth and lay pipes and water
mains in, under and along the streets, squares, lanes, roads,
public highways of any of the towns of said Montgomery
county; provided, however, that in the construction, main-
tenance, removal or repair of any conduits thereof when
within the limits of any incorporated town in said county,
the same shall be done under supervision and with the con-
sent of the town authorities of said town.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the directors of said corpora-

tion shall have full power to adopt such by-laws, rules and
regulations for the direction and management of said corpo-
ration as may in their judgment be necessary for the pur-
poses of their corporation not inconsistent with the provi-
sions of this charter and the laws and constitution of this
State; and the president and directors of said corporation, or
a majority of them, shall constitute, appoint and employ
such officers, agents and servants for the construction, pres-
ervation and repair of said line and property, and the trans-
action of all other business of said corporation, with full
power to fix their compensation and to remove at pleasure.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That if any subscriber shall

neglect to pay any instalment subscription to stock in this
corporation under Section 2 for thirty days after same shall
be due and payable, the stock on which it is due and demand-
able shall, at the discretion of said president and directors,
be forfeited to said corporation; provided, nevertheless, that
nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent said
corporation from suing and recovering such instalments in
like manner as other debts and claims are recoverable.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
