CHAP. 583

CHAPTER 583.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Laurel,
Prince George's County, to levy an additional tax in the
said town of Laurel, if found necessary.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in the event that liquor licenses be not issued

after the 30th day of April, 1906, in the town of Laurel,
Prince George's county, Maryland, the Mayor and City
Council of said town of Laurel be and are hereby authorized
to levy an additional tax of not exceeding ten cents on each
One hundred dollars of the assessable property within the
said town of Laurel in addition to the taxes now levied, in
the discretion of the said Mayor and City Council, for the
years 1906 and 1907, to provide any deficiency which may
occur.

Approved April 5, 1906.

CHAPTER 584.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter
237 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1896, title "Cecil County," sub-title "Birds and Game."
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to
read as follows :
Section 38. It shall not be lawful to shoot, trap, maim or

kill or in any manner injure, destroy or expose for sale any
partridge, rabbit, woodcock, rail bird, reed bird, pheasant or
robin between the twenty-fifth day of December and the
fifteenth day of November, nor any squirrel between the first
day of January and the first day of September; and any
person having in his, her or their possession any of the birds
or game mentioned in this section during the prohibited
periods, such possession shall be deemed prima facie evi-
dence against such persons of a violation of this section,
except when it may appear that such birds or game are for
breeding purposes; any person violating any of the provi-
sions of this section, on conviction thereof, shall be fined ten
