CHAPTER 558.

AN ACT to add three additional sections to Article 2 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County,"
under a new sub-title, " Germantown and Vicinity," to be
designated as Sections 130 D, 130 E and 130 F, providing
for the appointment of a police officer for Germantown
and vicinity, in Anne Arundel county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

130 D. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county

and property in Anne Arundel county; such policeman
shall be stationed at Germantown, in the second election
district of said county. The appointment shall be made
immediately after the passage of this Act, and the person so
appointed shall serve until the first day of January, 1908,
and until his successor is duly appointed, and thereafter
such appointment shall be made every two years on the first
day of January, or as soon thereafter as possible. The said
County Commissioners shall have power to suspend such
policeman without pay, or remove him at pleasure and to
appoint another officer in his place.
130 E. It shall be the duty of said policeman at all times

to preserve the public peace, prevent crimes being com-
mitted, protect the rights of persons and property, to arrest
all offenders against the laws of the State, and to this end
he shall have all the powers and authority of county con-
stables, and shall receive no other pay or fee other than his
monthly salary for doing criminal work.

officer monthly, payable in cash or by levy, equivalent to
cash. It shall be the duty of said commissioners to arm
and equip said officer, and to make such rules and regula-
