of its pier or piers, or in payment for work done or materials
furnished therefor or labor and services rendered said com-
pany in its organization and subsequent thereto, upon such
terms as may be agreed upon between the board of directors
and such contractors or persons doing such work or furnish-
ing such materials or rendering such labor or services.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That five members of the

board of directors of said corporation shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business of the said corpora-
tion,
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That all the operations

and acts heretofore undertaken or done or performed in the
name of the Ocean City Pier and Improvement Company of
Ocean City, Maryland, and shown on the minutes of said
company, be and the same are hereby ratified and confirmed
and made valid in law as the corporate acts of the " Ocean
Citv Pier and Improvement Company of Ocean City, Mary-
land."
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 556.
AN ACT to pay the claim of George W. Walther & Co. for
Plumbing, Gas Fitting and Electrical Construction Sup-
plies as furnished the State Department.
SECTION 1. Be it, enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is

confirmed.

hereby authorized to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer
for the sum of two thousand three hundred and ninety-five
dollars and twenty-three cents in favor of the said George
W. Walther & Co., for plumbing, gas fitting and electrical
supplies furnished the State Department.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
