dation, merger, purchase or otherwise, the property, stock,
bonds and other obligations of the Morrison Land Com-
pany of Allegany county, or to guarantee said bonds and
obligations, and to authorize the latter company to con-
tract with the former company as to all the same.
WHEREAS, The Morrison Land Company of Allegany

county now owns a pavilion and other houses, and a coal
mine, situated around and near the power house of the West-
ernport and Lonaconing Railway Company, and has a con-
tract to furnish coal to the latter company; and
WHEREAS, It is deemed desirable that the railway com-
pany should acquire the plant, stock, bonds and all other
property of said land company by consolidation, merger,
purchase or otherwise; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the Westernport and Lonaconing Railway Com-
pany, a corporation incorporated under Article 23 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, be and the same
is hereby authorized and empowered to acquire by consoli-
dation, merger, lease, purchase or otherwise, all or any part
or parts of the privileges, rights, franchises, stocks, bonds
and property of every kind of the. Morrison Land Company
of Allegany County, a corporation incorporated under said
general laws, and to that end make any necessary and
proper contract with said land company in relation to the
same, and may pay or guarantee the bonds or other obliga-
tions of Said land company; and said Morrison Land Com-
pany of Allegany county is hereby authorized and empow-
ered to effect said consolidation, merger or sale of all its
said property as aforesaid, or any part thereof, or make any
other contract with said railway company as aforesaid in
relation to all the foregoing, to effect said purpose.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
