Chapter 214 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at its January Session, 1898, and providing for
a license of five hundred dollars to sell spirituous, fermented
or intoxicating liquors within one mile of the corporate
limits of Williamsport, in Washington county.
Section 321 1/2. In addition to the sum now required by law
for a license to sell spirituous, fermented or intoxicating

liquors in quantities less than a pint the clerk shall demand
and receive, before issuing such license, from any and all
persons applying for such license to sell spirituous, fer-
mented or intoxicating liquors at any place within one mile
of the corporate limits of Williamsport, in Washington county,
the, sum of five hundred dollars for the same, and also a fee
of fifty cents as a fee to the clerk, in addition to that now
allowed by law.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
Approved April 3, 1906.

CHAPTER 525.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the " Burgess and Com-
missioners of Williamsport," Washington County, Mary-
land, to borrow money on the credit of the said town for
the purpose of supplementing, enlarging, increasing and
adding to the electric light plant and system now belong-
ing to and operated by the said town, as provided for by
Chapter 27 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at its January Session, A. D., 1898, and to
issue bonds for the payment of the same, and to levy on
the assessable property of the said town to redeem said
bonds, and to pay the interest on the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
