CHAPTER 579.
AN" ACT to repeal Sections 143, 144, 155 A and 155s of
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne
Arundel County," sub-title "Fish, Crabs and Terrapins,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Repeal
and re-enact.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 143 and 144 of Article 2 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County,"
sub-title "Fish, Crabs and Terrapins," and sections 155 A and
155 B of said Article, as enacted by the Acts of 1890, Chapter
375, be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as
to read as follows :

143. It shall not be lawful for any person to use in the
rivers of Anne Arundel county any seine or net in catching: or
taking fish, the meshes of which shall be less than one and
one-half inches square.
144. If any person shall use or haul in the rivers or waters
of said county any seine or net exceeding ten fathoms in
|

length, the meshes of which shall be less than one and one-
half inches square, he shall forfeit and pay for each offense
the sum of twenty dollars, to be recovered in the name of the
State, before any justice of the peace, as other small debts ;
one-half to the use of the informer and the other half to the
use of the State.

beach
or shore, etc,
|
155 A. It shall not be lawful for any person to empty any
seine or net upon the beach or shore within the limits of said
county at any time, so as to leave the small and unmarketable
'fish to perish, but they shall empty their seines or nets in
water not less than twelve inches in depth, so as to permit the
small and unmarketable fish to return to deep water for
growth ; and every person using, fishing or emptying any
seine, net, fish-basket, fish-pot, weir, pound net, fyke, fish-trap
or contrivance of any kind, class or description which catches
the fish alive, shall immediately and carefully cull them over
and return the small, unmarketable fish to the water where it
is not less than twelve inches in depth ; all white perch under
seven inches in length, all yellow perch under eight inches in
