CHAPTER 522.

AN ACT to add an additional Section to Article 33, Code
of Public General Laws, title " Elections," sub-title " Reg-
istration," to follow Section 25 A, and to be known as Sec-
tion 25 C.

CHAP. 632.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following section be and the eame is
hereby added to Article 33, Code of Public General Laws,
title "Elections," sub-title " Registration," to follow imme-
diately after section 25 A, and to be known as section 25 C.

New section
added.

25 o. Nothing in the preceding section shall be held to
apply to persons in the diplomatic or consular service of the
United States, appointed from Maryland who, at the time of
their appointment, are registered voters thereof, or to secre-
taries and clerks, respectively, of the United States Senators
and Representatives in Congress from Maryland, for periods
of service not longer than the term of a United Senator or
Representative in Congress, who shall be, at the time of their
appointment, residents and registered voters of the said State.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this A.ct shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 523.

AN ACT to amend Chapter 261 of the Acts of 1892,
entitled an Act to amend the Code of Public Local Laws,
Article 3, title "Baltimore County," adding thereto the
following Sections, under the head "Primary Elections."

to be applied.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 9 A, as enacted in chapter 614 of the
Acts of 1900, amending chapter 261 of the Acts of 1892, is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows :

Repeal
and re-enact.

Section 9 A. At any primary election, precinct meeting, or
any meeting held in Baltimore county, of any political party,
for the election of one or more candidates for public office, to
be voted for by the people of said county, or for electing dele-
gates to any convention of such party, any person who by
force, threat, intimidation, bribery or reward, or promise of
any article of value, shall induce, or endeavor to induce, any
person to vote or abstain from voting for any delegate or can-
didate at said election or meeting, or any person who shall
counsel or assist in or direct such intimidation, bribery or
