CHAPTER 511.

AN ACT to add three new Sections to Chapter 555 of the
Acts of 1900, titled "Dorchester County," sub-title "Secre-
tary," to follow Section 11, and to be known as Sections
11 A, 11 B and 11 C.

CHAP. 511.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That three additional sections be and the same are
hereby added to Chapter 555 of the Acts of 1900, and to
follow section 11, and to be known as sections 11 A, 11 B and

11 C.

New sections

11 A. The Commissioners may assess and levy annually a
tax, not exceeding two dollars each, for any dog belonging to
or kept by any of the inhabitants of the town, to be collected
as other taxes, and may compel the bailiff to kill any dog
within the town whose owner cannot be ascertained or whose
ostensible owner shall fail to pay or evade the payment of the
said tax, and they shall adopt such by-laws as will effectually
enforce the provision of this section.

11 B. The promoters of any theatrical performance, troupe or
company, and the proprietors of any exhibition or other public
entertainments who charge an admission ; these may be
required to procure a license for each performance, exhibition
or entertainment ; provided, that such license shall not be
required in cases where the exhibitions, entertainments or per-
formances occur in licensed house or theatre.
11 C. The owners or promoters of merry-go-rounds or
fly ing- horses.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 512.
AN ACT to appropriate certain sums of money to the support
of sundry Schools and Charitable Institutions in the State of
Maryland for each of the two fiscal years ending on the
thirtieth day of September, nineteen hundred and three,
and on the thirtieth day of September, nineteen hundred
and four, respectively.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sums of money hereinafter named be and
they :are hereby appropriated to the support of the hereinafter
mentioned schools and charitable institutions in the State, for
