AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 49,
Article 77, of the Code of the Public General Laws, title
"Public Education," sub-title "Teachers."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 49 of Article 77 of the Code of the
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Public Education,"
sub-title "Teachers," he and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows :

Repeal
and re-enact.

49. Teachers shall be appointed by the Board of District
School Trustees, subject to confirmation by the Board of
County School Commissioners, and said teachers may be
removed at any time said Board of District Trustees may
think proper after thirty days' notice in writing ; provided, the
said Board of District School Trustees shall furnish in writing,
when requested by the teacher or teachers so notified, the rea-
sons for dismissal ; and provided further, that the right of
appeal shall lie to the Board of County School Commissioners,
whose action in confirming or rejecting the action of the
district trustees shall be final.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 461.
AN ACT to repeal Section 53 of Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Garrett County," sub-title
"County Treasurer," as re-enacted by Chapter 566 of the
Acts of 1890, and to re-enact said Section 53 with amend-
ments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
