the name of said corporation shall be changed from the
Central Trust Company to Washington Trust Company of
Maryland and for other amendments thereto.

CHAP. 368

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 2 of chapter 528 of the Acts of 1900
be amended by substituting for the words fifty thousand
dollars the words twenty-five thousand dollars.

Amended.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That section 3 of the Act
of 1900, chapter 528, changing the name of the Central States'
Banking and Trust Company as incorporated by the Act of
1898, chapter 461, to the Central Trust Company, and other-
wise amending its charter, be and the same is hereby amended,
so that the name of said corporation be and the same is hereby
changed from that of the Central Trust Company to that of
the Washington Trust Company of Maryland which is hereby
fixed and established as the name of said corporation and by
that name the corporation shall have and exercise all the
powers, rights, privileges and functions which were heretofore
bestowed upon or possessed by said corporation under and by
its name of Central Trust Company, and all obligations held
by and property vested in said corporation under its former
name shall be enforceable and vested in it under its new name,
and all other acts of every nature and kind done by said cor-
poration in the exercise of its corporate powers under its
former name shall have the same force and effect as if done
under the name of Washington Trust Company of Maryland,
and all liabilities incurred and assumed by said corporation
shall be enforceable against it under its new name.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That section 3 of chap-

ter 461 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1898, be amended by striking out the words Baltimore City
and substituting therefor the words the State of Maryland.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
