WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Maryland, by
chapter 307 of the Laws of 1900, passed an Act entitled "An
Act to change the name of the Potomac and Severn Electric
Railway Company, and to grant certain additional powers and
privileges to said corporation, and to confined certain fran-
chises and privileges granted to said corporation by the Mayor,
City Counsellor and Aldermen of the city of Annapolis; " and
WHEREAS, Since the passage of said chapter 307 of the Acts
of 1900, the said Washington and Annapolis Electric Railway
Company, upon appropriate action taken, determined to con-
struct, maintain and operate a branch line of its railroad from
a point on the main line between the cities of Washington and
Annapolis to a point at or near the city limits of the city of
Baltimore, and it would, therefore, be more appropriate to
designate the said Washington and Annapolis Electric Rail-
way Company as Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Elec-
tric Railway Company; now, therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of said Washington and Annapolis
Electric Railway Company be and the same is hereby changed
to "Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Electric Railway
Company, " which is hereby fixed and established as the cor-
porate name of said corporation, which said corporation, by
the name of Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Electric
Railway Company, shall have and hold all the property, assets
and franchises, enjoy all the rights and privileges, and exercise
'all the powers and functions which were heretofore conferred
upon, and held, owned, or possessed by said corporation, in,
under and by its former name of Washington and Annapolis
Electric Railway Company.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 362.
AN ACT to pay George Jewell the sum of twenty-five hun-
dred and ninety-four dollars and eighty-one cents, being the
amount due him for work done and material furnished by
him under contract with the Board of Public Works and a
special committee of the Mayor, Counsellor and Alderman
of the city of Annapolis, in paving State and Governor's
circles and parts of adjacent streets as provided by Chapter
298 of the General Assembly of nineteen hundred.
