diseases except those specified shall be treated therein unless
authorized by an additional ordinance approved in the manner
as set forth in section 1 of this Act.

CHAP. 37.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That all Acts or ordinances
inconsistent with this Act be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 37.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Burgess and Com
missioners of Taneytown, Maryland, to purchase a lot of
land in said town and erect thereon a building or buildings
for fire and municipal purposes and to levy a special tax
on the taxable property within the corporate limits of Taney-
town to pay for the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repeal.

Maryland, That the Burgess and Commissioners of Taneytown,
Maryland, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to purchase a lot of land in said town, and erect thereon a
building or buildings for fire and municipal purposes, provided
the cost of the same shall not exceed the sum of five thousand
dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Burgess

and Commissioners be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered to borrow the sum of five thousand dollars for the
purposes aforesaid, and execute the note of said corporation
for said sum of money and interest thereon and to secure the
same by mortgage.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said Burgess

and Commissioners be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered to levy annually a special tax, not to exceed twelve
cents on each one hundred dollars' worth of taxable property
within the corporate limits of said town, and the proceeds
therefrom to be applied to the payment of the interest on eaid
debt, and the balance to paid on the principal ; provided, that
when said debt and the interest thereon have been fully paid,
then said special tax shall cease.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That before this Act
shall take effect, it shall be submitted to the qualified voters of
said Taneytown for their approval or rejection at the next
annual election for officers in said Taneytown, and should the
same be rejected by a majority of said qualified voters, then
