Officers.

OFFICERS.
The officers of the said corporation shall be a Mayor, a Coun-
cil, which shall be composed of four members, a clerk, a
treasurer, a bailiff, who shall aleo be tax collector, a board
of health of three members, who shall severally enjoy such
powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by
this Act and the ordinances passed in pursuance thereof. The
Mayor, the members of the Council, the bailiff, and the secre-
tary of the Board of Health shall be elected by the votes in said
town. The Treasurer shall be elected by the Mayor and
Council. The bailiff shall, by virtue of his office, be one
member of the board of health, and the Council shall, at its
first meeting in each term, elect one of its members to serve
upon the board of health during the year in which elected, or
until his successor has been elected by Council. All the officers
elected by the Council shall hold their offices respectively for
one vear from the first Monday in May in the year for which
they have been elected, and until their successors have been
elected, and qualified ; any officer, whether elected by the
people or appointed by the Council, or by the Mayor with the
consent of the Council, may be removed at any time by a
majority vote of the members of said Council for misconduct,
neglect of duty or inability to perform the duties of his office,

Limits.
|
The corporate and taxable limits of said town are as fol-
lows : 'Commencing at a locust post on the southeast corner
of Midland Park Association grounds on the left bank of
George's creek, and running north thirty-seven degrees west
eight hundred and twenty-five (825) feet to corner of Midland
Park Association fence ; thence north eighty-five degrees
east nineteen hundred (1900) feet to a red oak tree on George
Sharp's lot ; thence north fifty degrees east four hundred (400)
feet to a locust gate post situate near Robert Izzett's house on
road to Davis rock ; thence north forty-two degrees west a
distance of one thousand and seventy (1,070) feet to a pine
tree near Dr. A. G. Smith's residence, and near the George's
Creek and Cumberland Railroad ; thence north fifty degrees
west a distance of eight hundred and fifty (850) feet to a white
oak tree standing. near convent ; thence due west five hundred
and fifty (550) feet to a pine tree near Squirrel Neck run ;
thence south twenty-nine degrees west five hundred (500)
feet to a locust post on the southeast bank of George's creek
and on the near corner of Harry Taylor's lot ; thence along
the left bank of George's creek to the place of beginning.
