so assessed that the assessment was void, it shall be the duty
of the assessors for Prince George's county for the time being,
at once to value the same and list such property for each year
it has escaped taxation, and immediately thereafter report the
same to the County Commissioners, who shall set a day for
considering the same, and putting said property on the assess-
ment books of the county. The County Commissioners shall
cause notice to be served upon the owner of each piece of such
property on his agent, or the person in possession thereof, at
least ten days before said assessment of the time, when and
place where said assessment will be made, and that the said
owner or his representative may then attend and be heard in
the premises, and if there be no person found on the property
to be assessed, a copy of the notice shall be posted conspicu-
ously on the same ; each of such notices shall be returned to
said commissioners with the service made endorsed thereon,
and be preserved ; no property which has escaped taxation
shall be liable to assessment and taxation under this section
for a period of more than three years prior to the last Monday
in March next following such assessment. Any property
assessed as above shall be immediately liable for the State and
county taxes for each year it hae escaped taxation at the rate
of the tax fixed for such year, and the same shall be a first
lien thereon and be collected by the treasurer for the time
being, in the manner of collecting the current levy provided
by law.

CHAP. 831.

Duty
of assessors.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts and
parts of Acts inconsistent with the aforegoing section or any
part thereof be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 332.
AN ACT to provide for the construction and erection of an
addition to the State House in the city of Annapolis, in
which shall be located the State Senate Chamber and the
Hall of the House of Delegates, and for such other
purposes as may be deemed proper; and to remove and
demolish the State Library building and annexes ; and to
appropriate a sum of money for all of said purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Hon. James McSherry, Hon. Samuel D.
Schmucker, Elijah Williams, Spencer C.J Jones, Peter J.
