CHAP. 266.

CHAPTER 266.

AN ACT to empower the County Commissioners of Carroll
County to give to Railway Companies the right to use
County Roads.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Carroll county
are hereby authorized and empowered to grant to electric rail-
way companies the right and powef to build their lines of
railway on and across public roads, subject to the consent of
the said County Commissioners of Carroll county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
Approved April 8, 1902.

CHAPTER 267.

AN ACT to incorporate the Patapsco Electric and Manufac-
turing Company.

Body
corporate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That George W. Harris, Thomas Van Loan,
citizens of the State of New York, and James H. Gaither,
Victor G. Bloede and James Nowlin, citizens of the State of
Maryland, and their associates, successors and assigns, be and
they are hereby constituted and made a body corporate under
and by the name and style of the Patapsco Electric and
Manufacturing Company, and by that name shall have per-
petual succession, and shall be capable to sue and be sued, to
plead and be impleaded, and to complain or defend in any
Court of Law or Equity ; to make and use a common seal and
alter the same at pleasure ; to receive and make deeds, leases
and mortgages ; to acquire by purchase or in any other manner
take, receive, hold, use, employ, manage, mortgage, dispose
of, or in any manner not inconsistent with law, deal in and
contract in regard to any property, real, personal or mixed,
situate in or out of this State, which may be necessary or
proper to enable said corporation to carry out its operations
or fulfill the purposes named in this Act, ; to apply for,
purchase or in any manner acquire, hold, own, use, work,
operate or sell, or in any manner dispose of any patents, inven-
tions, improvements or processes relating to the business
authorized by this charter ; also to enter into, make, perform
and enforce contracts of every kind with any person, firm,
association or corporation with reference to the business
authorized under the terms of this charter, and generally to
