shall be valid except as between the parties thereto, unless the
said oaths or affirmation shall be endorsed thereon ; provided,
that nothing in this section shall apply to mortgages executed
prior to the 30th day of March, in the year 1896.

CHAPTER 27.
AN ACT to authorize the State Librarian to supply to the
Librarian of the Library Company of the Baltimore Bar
such copies of the Reports, Laws, Journals and Documents
of the State of Maryland of which he may now have
duplicates, and of which he may have duplicates from time
to time as new volumes are published, as can be spared
from the State Library, not exceeding in any case two
copies of such volumes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the State Librarian be and he is hereby
authorized and empowered to supply to the librarian of the
Library Company of the Baltimore Bar such copies of the
reports, laws, journals and documents of the State of Maryland
of which he may now have duplicates, and of which he may
have duplicates from time to time as new volumes are pub-
lished, as can be spared from the State Library, not exceeding
in each case two copies of such volumes.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 28.
AN ACT to prohibit the issuing of licenses to sell spirituous
or fermented liquors in the village of Doub in Frederick
county or within one mile thereof, in said county.

Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for the clerk of the
Circuit Court for Frederick county to issue any license to any
persons to sell spirituous or fermented liquois or lager beer at
any place in the village of Doub in Frederick county or at
any place within one mile of said village in said county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
