SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,, That section 251 of Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester County," sub-title
"Oysters," and sections 155 and 162 of Article 21 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Talbot County," sub-title
"Oysters," as said sections were repealed and re-enacted with
amendments by the Act of 1900, chapter 674, said sections
being co-ordinate sections of said Article in relation to the
taking; of oysters in the waters in common between Dorchester
and Talbot counties, be and said sections are hereby severally
repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read, respec-
tively, as follows :
Section 155 of Article 21. The clerks of the Circuit

Repeal
and re-enact.

Courts for Talbot and Dorchester counties, respectively, shall,
upon application of the managing owner, who has been a
resident of the county in which he shall apply for one year next
preceding such application, and to no other person, issue a license
to such resident to employ his boat, of a capacity of seven gross
tons or under, such capacity to be ascertained by rules of the
custom-house measurement, as hereinafter provided, in taking
and catching oysters with dredge, scoop or scrape in the
waters of the Choptank river, in said counties, for sale from the
first day of November and the fifteenth day of March next suc-
ceeding, both inclusive, on which last-named day the license
shall expire; provided, that nothing in this section shall autho-
rize the taking of oysters with scoop, scrape or dredge above a
straight line drawn from the long wharf at Cambridge, known
as Thomas' Wharf, on the Dorchester shore, to the B;iwdle
House on the Talbot shore, immediately opposite, or in any
tributary of said river, above or below said line; provided
further, that the applicant shall pay such clerk the sum of
one dollar and ninety cents per gross ton, according to the
capacity of the vessel to be licensed, which capacity shall be
determined by gross tonnage; and all boats measuring less than
five tons gross shall pay eight dollars for said license, which
shall be good for one season only, and shall only authorize the
catching of ousters between the first day of November and
the fifteenth day of March next succeeding; and until such
license is obtained, it shall be unlawful to use dr employ any
vessel in taking or catching any oysters, as hereinbefore

west corner of Second Kent Point to Wales Point, except the
waters between Poplar Island and the mainland, lying
within a straight line drawn from Pawpaw Point on Tilgh-
