the Saengerfest Association of Baltimore City the use of the
Fifth Regiment Armory Building for a period in the year
nineteen Hundred and three (1903) not exceeding four weeks
for the purpose of holding and conducting therein a saenger-
fest or festival of song and music.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 175.
AN ACT to encourage the Development of Manufactures
and Manufacturing Industries in Hagerstown and in other
parts of Washington county, and to provide for the
exemption of certain manufacturing establishments from
municipal and county taxation.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in order to encourage the growth and

development of manufacturing industries in Hagerstown and
other parts of Washington county, the County Commissioners
of said county are hereby authorized and empowered to
exempt from county taxation, for a term not exceeding five
years, manufacturing industries and establishments that shall
be hereafter located in said county, and which shall employ
regularly not less than twenty -tive hands; the said .County
Commissioners to determine what manufacturing industries
and establishments are within the meaning and purpose of
this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and Council
of Hagerstown be and they are hereby authorized and

years, such manufacturing industries or establishments as they
may deem proper and expedient, which shall be hereafter
located in said town, and which shall employ regularly not
less than twenty-five hands ; the said Mayor and Council to
determine what manufacturing industries and establishments
are within the meaning and purpose of this Act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
