of this Act, shall cause a copy of such license or certificate to
registration to be filed in the office of the local board of health
of Maryland, in the respective county or in the city of Balti-
more, in which it is proposed to carry on said business or
engage in the discharge of such employment; said license or
certificate of registration shall be displayed in a conspicuous
place in the office or place of business of such licensee.

SEC. 9. The board shall have power at any time to revoke
any license theretofore granted, for and upon proper cause
shown and after a full hearing of all the parties in interest
shall have been had.

licenses issued under section 8 of this Act, shall expire on the
30th day of April next ensuing the date of their issue. There-
after, before any person, persons, copartnerships or corpora-
tions then engaged in the business of undertaking, or before
any assistant or employe of any such persons, copartnerships
or corporations, or officer of any such corporations, whose duties
engage him or her in the care, preparation, disposition or
burial of the dead, shall continue in the said business or
employment in this State, he, she, they or it shall make
application to the said board for a license to carry on the said
business or engage in the practice thereof. Upon the pay-
ment of a fee of five dollars the said board shall issue to the
said applicant a license similar to the one issued under section
S of this. Act ; such license shall date from the first day of
May and be effective for the period of one year therefrom,
and shall be renewed annually thereafter upon the payment
of a fee of five dollars.
SEC. 11. Any person, persons, copartnership or corporation
who shall practice, or hold himself, herself, themselves or

itself out as practising the business of undertaking, or dis-
charge the duties of such employment as engage him or her
in the care, preparation, disposition or burial of the bodies of
deceased persons without having complied with the provisions
of sections 7, 8 and 10 of this Act, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction thereof before any Court of
competent jurisdiction, shall be fined not more than five
hundred dollars or sentenced to undergo an imprisonment for
a term not exceeding one year, or both, in the discretion of
the Court, for each and every offense.

SEC, 12. No certificate of registration nor license granted
under the provisions of this Act, shall be assignable or trans-
ferable. Every such certificate of registration and license
shall specify by name the person, persons, copartnership or
corporation to whom it is issued, and shall designate the par-
ticular place or places at which the business shall be carried on.
