CHAP. 16.

principal thereof at the maturity of said bonds, and shall
create a sinking fund for that purpose and levy and collect
the necessary taxes therefor.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 16.
AN ACT to repeal Section 10 of Article 36 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Fees of Officers," sub-title
"Attorneys," as the same was enacted by the Acts of 1865,
Chapter 131, and to re-enact said Section amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 10 of Article 36 of the Code of

Repeal.

Public General La we, title "Fees of Officers," sub-title
"Attorneys," as the same was enacted by the Acts of 1865,
chapter 131, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows :

Fees to be
allowed.

Section 10. Attorneys at law shall be entitled to demand
and receive the following fees, to wit : For bringing, prosecut-
ing or defending any suit or action at law in any of the
Courts of this State of original jurisdiction, $5; for prose-
cuting or defending any cause, plaint or action, including all
proceedings to collect money due on mortgage, in any of the
Courts of Equity of this State, $10; for prosecuting or
defending any cause in any of the Orphans' Courts in this
State, $10 ; for prosecuting or defending any cause in the
Court of Appeals, $10; for prosecuting or defending in any
criminal cases in any of the Courts of this State having
criminal jurisdiction, when the punishment for the offence
charged is death or confinement in the penitentiary, $10. In
all other criminal cases, $5.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 17.
AN ACT to add Section 55 A to Article 16, titled "Mont>-
gomery County," sub title "Birds and Game."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following section be and it is hereby
added to Article 16 of the Code of "Public Local Laws,"
