SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 11.
AN ACT to amend and add to the corporate powers of the
Sisters of Charity of Saint Joseph's, incorporated by the
Act of 1816, Chapter 95, entitled "An Act to incorporate
the Sisters of Charity of Saint Joseph's, in Frederick
county."

CHAP. 10.

WHEREAS, One of the objects and purposes of the incorpor-
ation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph's was "the
education of young females ;" and

Preamble.

WHEREAS, It is the desire of the faculty and professors of
said institution to grant and confer upon the graduates of said
institution such collegiate and academic degrees usually granted
by other similar institutions established for the education of
females, to such of their graduates who may merit the distinc-
tion.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Sisters of Charity of Saint Joseph's, in
