place a fair valuation upon that contained within the town
limits and make a just apportionment of said assessment.
Should any property liable to be taxed for town purposes be
omitted in the county assessment, the Burgess and Commis-
sioners shall have power to include said property in the town
assessment and impose a just valuation thereon.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTEE 466.

AN ACT to refund to Mortimer D. Crapster, late collector ol
State taxes in the Second collection district of Howard county
sums of money erroneously paid into the Treasury.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary

land, That the Treasurer of the State be, and he is hereby au-
thorized and directed, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, tco
pay to Mortimer D. Crapster, late collector of State taxes in
the Second collection district of Howard county, the sum of
twenty-six dollars and fourteen cents, erroneously paid into the
Treasury for State taxes, for the years 1892 and 1893, inclusive
with interest, the same having been recommended by the officers
of the State Treasury.

Appropria-
tion.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect fron
the date of its passage.

Approved April 4, 1896.

CHA.PTER 467.

AN ACT to amend Article 27 of the Code of Public General
Laws, title '' Crimes and Punishments," sub-title " Health,
Workshops and Factories," by striking out Section 149 A,
and enacting the following, to be known as " Section
149 A," to be inserted immediately after the heading "Sweat-
ing System."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
