SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the Board of Road Commis-
sioners shall have the authority to supply the engineer with
whatever labor he may require to lay out the roads in the sev-
eral districts of the county for construction, improvement or
repair.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the engineer shall superintend
all work done upon the public roads, together by contract or
by day labor, and to see that said work is faithfully done accord-
ing to specifications and contract, and according to the require-
ments of the case, and the said engineer shall make frequent
reports to the Board of Road Commissioners and to the County
Commissioners, and shall also report to them upon any subject
pertaining to the discharge of his duty whenever he may be
called upon so to do, either by the Board of Road Commission-
ers or by the County Commissioners.
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That any person or persons to

whom a contract to construct, repair or improve the public
roads, or any part thereof of Anue Arundel county, may be
awarded, shall give bond in such penalty as may be prescribed
by the Road Commissioners and the engineer, each in his re-
spective district, with a surety or sureties to the satisfaction of
the Road Commissioners and the engineer conditioned for the
faithful performance of his contract within a specified time,
which bond shall be given to the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel county; any moneys recovered or paid under
said bonds shall be. turned into the county treasury for the use
of the road fund according to the system now existing by law.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That all laws or parts of laws
inconsistent with the provisions of this act be, and they art
hereby repealed so far as they relate to Anne Arundel county
|

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the first day of May, 1896.
