CHAPTER 438.
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article four, Public
Local Laws, entitled "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Courts,"
to be known as Section two hundred and twenty-two A.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the State of Maryland be and

urer for the payment of the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars
per annum in each and every year, in quarterly instalments of
six hundred and twenty-five dollars at the end of each and
every quarter, for the compensation of the trust clerk desig-
nated by the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City in the offices
of the Circuit Court of Baltimore City and Circuit Court No.
2 of Baltimore City, for the supervision of the trust estates in
eaid courts, payment of said salary to be made out of any
money paid by the clerks of the several courts of Baltimore
city unto the State Treasury, and on the certificate of some
one of the judges of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City
that such trust clerk has performed his duties for the time so
certified by said judge.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 439.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
54 A and 54s of Article 56 of the Code of Public General
Laws, 'title "Licenses," sub-title "Traders."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 54 A and 54 B of Article 56 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title " Licenses," sub-title " Traders,"
be and the same are hereby repealed and re enacted, so as to
read as follows :

54 A. When any person or corporation intends to sell, at re-
tail, cigarettes made of tobacco in combination with any other
substance or material, or covered, wrapped with or contained
in any other material than tobacco, he, she or it shall apply
to the clerk of the court who is empowered to issue trader's
license.
