to said land be, and the same is hereby vested in said William
T. Joyce as fully as if he had obtained title thereto by warrant
or patent issued under the authority of the State; and that for
purposes of making and perfecting a chain of title thereto, that
a copy of this act under the hand and seal of the clerk of the
Court. of Appeals, to be recorded among the land records for
Anne Arundel county, when so recorded, shall be sufficient in
law to establish and perfect said chain 'of title.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 400.
AN ACT to authorize the Governor to appoint an additional
justice of the peace in the fourth election district, to reside
at Choptank, Caroline County, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor be and is hereby authorized and em-
powered to appoint an additional justice of the peace in and
for the fourth election district of Caroline county, to reside in
Choptank, in addition to those now required to be appointed by
existing laws.

CHAPTER 401.
AN ACT to lay out and establish a new election district in
Frederick county out of portions of Middletown election
district, No. 3, and Petersville election district No. 12, to be
called "Burkittsville District," or "Election District, No. 22."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new election district be laid out and established
out of portions of Middletown election district, No. 3, and
Petersville election district, No. 12, of Frederick county, the
said new district to be known and called by the name of " Bur-
kittsville district," or " Election district, No. 22."
