LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.
State Treasurer to pay to Wil bur F. Petherbridge, late Regis-
ter of Wills of Anne Arundel county, the sum of nine hun-
dred dollars for a General Index prepared by him to the
Records of Accounts of Executors and Administrators, record
books belonging to said office, embracing the period from 1716
to 1777, the said General Index containing 18,060 names, and
the amount so directed to be paid not exceeding the amount
now allowed by law for the preparation of such indexes at the
rate of tive cents per name, now fixed by law for such index-
ing; provided, that the said Wilbnr F. Petherbridge shall first
file with the Comptroller the certificate of the present Register
of Wills of said county that the said General Index has been
delivered to him at his said office.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 384.
AN ACT to authorize the School Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to build a new school house for colored
children, at a cost not to exceed six hundred dollars, at three
miles from Portland Station in the Fourth Election District
of Anne Arundel County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary
land, That the School Commissioners of Anne Arundel county
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to purchase a
site and build a new school house for colored children within
three miles of Portland Station, in the fourth election district
of Anne Arundel county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said school commissioners
in purchasing a site and erecting a building on the same, shall
not expend a sum exceeding six hundred dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
