tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of the city of Balti-
more be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to set
aside and appropriate the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000)
towards the erection of a monument as set forth in this peti-
tion; and, furthermore, to grant power and authority to the
said Mayor and City Council of the city of Baltimore, Mary-
land, to set apart and use a public square or lot of ground
as they may enact, for the erection thereon of said monument.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 382.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Queen
Anne's County to grant a pension to Benjamin Tolson, of
said county.

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's county
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to grant an
annual pension, not exceeding the sum of fifty dollars per
year, to Benjamin Tolson, of said county, for and during the
natural life of said Benjamin Tolson, and to provide for and to
levy the said sum on the assessable property of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 383.
AN ACT to pay Wilbur F. Petherbridge, late Register of
Wills of Anne Arundel County, the sum of nine hundred
dollars for a General Index prepared by him to the Records
of Accounts of Executors and Administrators in the said
Register of Wills' office.
