Effective.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 4, 1896.

CHAPTER 375.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 472, 474 and 475 of Article IT
of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of Balti-
more," sub-title "Hay and Straw," and to re-enact the same
"with amendments.

Repeal.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 472, 474 and 475 of Article IV of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of Baltimore,"
sub-title "Hay and Straw," be and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:

straw.

472. All hay and straw brought to the city of Baltimore
may be weighed at the State hay scales as now established by
law, by one of the inspectors, at the rate of one hundred
pounds to the hundred weight, making a reasonable allowance
for the moisture thereof, as well as the mud or other substance
attached to the wagon, cart or sled containing the same.

Certificate.

474. The inspector shall give a certificate of every load of
hay or straw weighed by him, stating the gross and net weight
of such straw or hay, and wagon, cart or sled.


Stones, etc.,
concealed
in load.

475. If any person bringing hay or straw to said city shall
be detected in having stones, rubbish, wood or anything else
concealed in his load, or shall in any manner change the condi-
tion of his cart, wagon, carriage or sled, with a fraudulent
intention, he shall forfeit and pay for each and every such
offense the sum of five dollars.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
