131 B. The owner or owners of any such house or building
used as a sweat-shop or factory where four or more persons are
employed as garment workers, on other than the first floor of
such house or building, shall provide fire escapes for the same;
and if any owner or owners of any house or building so used,
fail to make or provide a fire escape within six months after
the passage of this act, upon conviction thereof, shall pay a
fine of two hundred dollars, to be recovered as other fines in
this State, or imprisonment in the city jail for sixty days, or
both fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.

To provide
fire escapes.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 365.
AN ACT to authorize the Cambridge and Chesapeake Rail-
road Company to use electric or other motor power.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Cambridge aud Chesapeake Railroad Company
be, and is hereby authorized to use electric or other motor
power on the Cambridge and Chesapeake Railroad whenever
the said company may so decide.
Approved April 4, 1896.

CHAPTER 366.

AN ACT to authorize the Public Park Commission of Balti-
more to assume jurisdiction and control over the public high-
way known as the Green Spring Avenue Road, extending
from the north entrance of Druid Hill Park, through parts
of Baltimore city, and parts of Baltimore county, to the
Western Run bridge in Baltimore county, with power to
regulate the use thereof, as a highway, and also to author-
ize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to accept from
the owners of said Green Spring Avenue road a deed there-
for, subject to the rights of the adjacent property-holders to
use the same as a highway.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Publ'c Park Commission of Baltimore, as at
