any public road in said county, or any street, alley or lane in
any town of Said county.

SBC. 8. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for said
company to issue its bonds or obligations in sums of not less
than five hundred dollars each, and payable with interest, at
such time or times as the president and directors of said com-
pany may appoint, and to sell and dispose of the same, and to
provide for the security and payment of the same by mortgage
or otherwise, and also, that it shall and may be lawful for the
said company to issue certificates of stock, and to apply the
same, if they shall find it expedient to do so, in payment of
the expenses of the construction and equipment of said road
or other liabilities of said company.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to Incorporate the Hagerstown Electric Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Mealy, of Hagerstown, Maryland; William C. Bullitt, Herman
Hoopes, Powell Evans and Spencer Casby, of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania; Edwin Warfield and Edward Key, of Baltimore
city, Maryland, or such of them as may accept the provisions
of this act, their associates and successors, be, and they are
hereby incorporated and made a body politic and corporate
under the name and style of " The Hagerstown Electric Com-
pany," and by that name shall be known in law, and shall have
perpetual succession, and have power to sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded, defend and be defended in all courts, whether
in law or in equity, and may make and have a common seal,
and alter and renew the same at pleasure, and shall have, enjoy
and exercise all the rights, powers and privileges pertaining to
corporate bodies and necessary for the purposes of this act, and
may make by-laws, rules and regulations consistent with the
existing laws of the State of Maryland for the government of
all under its authority, the management of its estate and prop-
erties and the due and orderly conduct of its affairs.
