SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 3.
AN ACT to authorize and require the County Commissioners of
Frederick County to pay to the Burgess and Commissioners
of Middletown, a proportion of the franchise tax paid by
the savings banks and other institutions and corporations
located within the taxable limits of Middletown in said
county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly qf

Maryland^ That it shall be the duty of the County Commis-
sioners of Frederick county to pay over annually to the Bur-
gess and Commissioners of Middletown, one-fourth of the
franchise tax the said County Commissioners shall receive
under the provisions of section eighty-six of article eighty-one
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, from every
savings bank, institution or corporation organized for receiving
deposits of money and paying interest thereon, located within
the taxable limits of Middletown and having its principal
office therein.

CHAPTER 4.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter three hundred and forty-six of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
the January session, in the year eighteen hundred and
ninety, entitled an Act to repeal Sections two hundred and
eighty-nine of Article eleven of the Code of Public Local
Laws of the State of Maryland, title "Frederick County,"
sub-title " Justices of the Peace and Constables," and
re-enact the same with an amendment, relating to the
number of Justices of the Peace and Constables in Fred-
erick County, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
