LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 267.

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Berwyn Heights in
Prince George's county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the citizens residing within the limits of the tract
of land in Prince George's county, heretofore known as Charl-
ton Heights, as shown by the plat thereof, recorded among the
land records of said county in Liber J. W. B. No. 10, folio
309, be and they are hereby created a body corporate by the
name of the Commissioners of "Berwyn Heights," and by
said corporate name may have perpetual succession, sue and
be sued, plead and be impleaded in any court of law or equity,
and have and use a common seal and purchase and hold real,
personal and mixed property, and sell and dispose of same for
the benefit of the town.

Limits.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the corporate limits of
''Berwyn Heights" shall include all and the same land con-
tained in Edward Graves' sub-division of the tract of land
heretofore known as Charlton Heights, as shown by the plat
of said sub-division recorded among the land records of said
Prince George's county, in Liber J. W. B. No. 10, folio 309.

Election of
commis-
sioners.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the male citizens of Berwyn
Heights of the age of twenty-one years and upwards, who have
resided in said town for six months preceding any election held
hereunder, and who are qualified to vote for members of the
General Assembly, shall, on the first Monday in May annually,
elect three freeholders, who have resided in said town for six
months next preceding said election, as Commissioners of
"Berwyn Heights," to serve for one year or until their succes-
sors shall be elected and qualified. They shall receive no pay
for their services; the term of office of a commissioner shall
terminate upon the removal of residence beyond the town
limits.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the three commissioners shall
at their first meeting after an election, elect one of their num-
ber to be president of the board, and all vacancies in the board
of commissioners shall be filled by election held after ten days'
notice given by the remaining commissioner or commissioners.

Meetings.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That they shall meet in said
town, on or about the first Monday in June succeeding their
elections, and from time to time thereafter as occasion may
require.
