by them, the financial condition of the town, with an account
of all money received and expended, with the proper vouchers
therefor; he shall be collector of all taxes levied by said cor-
poration, and shall collect such taxes by distress or execution in
the same manner as the county taxes for Carroll county are
now collected, and for the purpose shall have all the powers
and authority that tax collectors of the county taxes of Carroll
county now have, and shall be subject to suit on his bond and
criminal prosecution as said tax collectors of Carroll county
now are.
SEC. 2. And be.it enacted, That the Mayor shall appoint
annually a bailiff or policeman for said town, which appoint-

ment shall be subject to the approval of the council; before
such bailiff or policeman enters upon the discharge of his
duties, he shall file with register of said corporation a bond
with security to be approved by the Mayor and Council,
made to the said corporation for the faithful discharge and per-
formance of his duties as prescribed by ordinance; and in the
execution of the duties of his office within the corporate limits
of said town, he shall have all the powers and authority of a
constable, and he shall pay over to the register all moneys
coming into his hands for and on account of said corporation.

Repeal.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That sections five and seven of
Chapter ninety-one of the acts passed at the January session,
eighteen hundred and ninety-four, of the General Assembly of
Maryland, be and the same are hereby repealed.

Effective.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 147.
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article twenty-seven
of t(he Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Crimes and
Punishments," sub-title ''Health," to come in after Section
one hundred and fifty-one of said Article.

New section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following section be and the same is hereby
added to Article twenty-seven of the Maryland Code of Public
General Laws, to come in after section one hundred and fifty-
one, and to be designated as "Section one hundred and fifty-
one A."
